Useful Blogs for Legal Secretaries and PAs

Blogs are a fantastic, but often shamefully underrated resource. Think about it, where else can you access free, constantly updated, and tailored information from some of the world’s lead thinkers in their area?

When considering blogs in those terms, many of you may be now thinking “Why don’t I read more blogs?” It could have a lot to do with how many bloggers there are out there- how do you know that you are getting the most accurate and relevant information for your search?

ILSPA has selected some of our favourite blogs to help you navigate the plethora out there:

All Things Admin

The clue is in the name with this one. Created by admin extraordinaire, Julie Perrine, All Things Admin’s blog covers all topics from organisation, travel planning tips, career progression, technology and more. As an advocate for the admin profession, Julie likes to encourage and motivate admin professionals. Her blog has all the tips, tricks and advice for the admin side of a Legal Secretary’s role that you could ever need.

Legal Cheek

This is a great one for keeping up to date with legal news and events. This blog is famous for giving new perspectives on current legal issues and debates. The articles are written by professionals at all different stages of their careers and in all different roles. If you like your law with a dash of humour it is a good one for you.

Totally Legal

SecsintheCity

Another ILSPA Partner, SecsintheCity is like Totally Legal in that it is a niche jobs board and career site. The SecsintheCity blog is tailored to administrative professionals. It has a wide range of articles talking about a diverse range of administrative professions, events and networking opportunities, and general career and professional development advice.

The Assistant Room

The Assistant Room is, as you would imagine, a blog for Assistants. However, as long-time followers of the blog we can honestly say it is useful for any business support professional. Again, it covers lots of different topics including career advice, professional development, reviews and also wellness and self-care. The great thing about The Assistant Room is that it really is a community. They have frequent events and networking opportunities. They even have a Membership programme.

Simply Law

The final ILSPA partner on the list, Simply Law, started as Simply Law Jobs. Now they have expanded and progressed to become a bit of a one-stop-shop for people looking for a career in law. They still have their job site function but now also offer personalised candidate profiles and a career hub for job seekers. The career hub incorporates a myriad of articles covering legal updates, industry insights and advice for job seekers.
