Every year scores of awards are up for grabs for Lawyers and HR teams but never for Legal PAs or Secretaries. This has now changed! One of the UK’s leading legal Secretarial and PA agencies, Strictly Legal, has launched the inaugural Legal PA of the Year Awards. The process offers a unique opportunity to recognise the vital role that Legal PAs and Managers play in the industry.
Since its launch in the summer, the scheme has really gripped the imagination of the legal industry. With nominations coming in thick and fast from support staff working in firms up and down the UK, it seems everyone wants to have a winner from one of the categories working at their firm! The competition is open to the best Legal PAs and Secretaries the UK has to offer. Nominations can come from PAs themselves, their colleagues and/or their line managers. There are four awards, with a category for all levels of experience:
- Legal PA of year
- Up-and-coming Legal PA of the year
- Legal PA Manager of the year
- DP/WP Operator of the year
Along with the kudos that comes with winning an award, each finalist will have the chance to win some amazing prizes. These include Training courses provided by the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs, a Business class trip to Europe, and a stay in one of London’s most prestigious hotels – The Corinthia, courtesy of our sponsors, Reed and Mackay (corporate travel consultants to the legal profession).
To find out more about the scheme and how to enter, go to www.legalpaoftheyear.co.uk; the closing date for nominations is 17 October 2012. The finalists in each category and representatives from their firms will be invited to our glittering awards ceremony taking place on 14 November 2012.
The Legal PA of the Year Awards is the only scheme of its kind to be fully supported by the legal profession. It has been backed by law firms across the UK which see this as the perfect opportunity to offer professional recognition to their PA and Secretarial teams.
Danielle Thompson, National Secretarial Manager, DAC Beachcroft:
“Legal PAs perform an invaluable function within law firms. It’s an enormously skilled role. Having been a Legal PA for all of my career, I know that sometimes firms fail to recognise the contribution they make. I am delighted to be able to help recognise such talent.”
Jo Bethwaite, Secretarial Resources Manager, Addleshaw Goddard:
“Addleshaw Goddard is proud to be part of a programme that recognises the contribution of the Legal PA population. We are very much looking forward to being involved with the awards.”
