We are delighted to announce our new Scholarship Scheme which will enable one Student each year to study our Legal Secretaries Diploma course for free. ILSPA would like to offer financial support to someone who may not be able to fund the course themselves, enabling him or her to have a successful Legal Secretary career.
Occasionally we receive enquiries from people who want to better themselves and have a good career by studying the Legal Secretaries Diploma course, but they are unable to afford the course fees. By introducing the scholarship scheme, we will be able to give someone the opportunity to enrol for our course without having the worry of the financial commitment.
ILSPA's Legal Secretaries Diploma course is suitable for those who have no previous experience in law as well as those who are familiar with law. It has been designed and written by legal professionals and is widely recognised by law firms, legal departments and legal recruiters. Our philosophy is that you should not only understand how to perform Legal Secretary work but also the reason why you have to do certain tasks and the law behind it as a whole.
The course will provide you with an understanding of various different areas of law and the practical tasks involved with Legal Secretary work such as legal document production, completing legal forms and typing professional correspondence. The course covers the four most common practice areas worked on in law firms and legal departments, which gives Students the best chance of securing employment or advancing their careers once qualifying.
The application process will commence in January each year, and the lucky Student will be chosen in April. To qualify for the scheme, potential Students must be in a position of financial difficulty, but it is open to people of all ages and nationalities. On the application form we will ask potential Students about their financial situation, current experience and skills, and what gaining the Legal Secretaries Diploma qualification will mean to them.
Whoever wins the scholarship will have the option to study the Legal Secretaries Diploma course by distance learning or through one of our evening classes in London. Our distance learning course can be started at any time of year, and we run our evening classes regularly. Students have a year to complete the course although Students complete it within six months on average.
We will be tracking our scholarship Student’s progress throughout his or her studies, taking extra care to motivate and encourage the Student along the way. Not only will the person be presented with ILSPA’s Legal Secretaries Diploma Certificate upon passing the course, but he or she will receive help to secure employment through CV help and guidance.
